Apple Ipad

Looks good, starting at $499 for the 16 gb free wifi option.

I'm bummed they didn't announce the Iphone on Verizon though!

It's Complicated

This weekend was pretty non-stop and one of the things I got to do was go see 'It's Complicated' with my husband.  He likes Alec Baldwin so he agreed to come with.  It was a good movie I thought,  sometimes I like movies that are just fun, they don't require too much thought and they don't end with me in tears!  Throughout the movie I fell in love with Jane (Meryl Streep)'s kitchen, restaurant, and garden.  Check out the Remodelista Blog for details.  But here are a few photos from IMDB to make this post a little more interesting!

We're in the middle of remodeling our kitchen right now (it's almost done!) and I'll post photos soon.  It won't be as nice as the above kitchen, but this is our first house, I need something to aspire to!  And while I definitely don't have enough room to do a garden like the one in the movie, I am hoping to do some raised beds this summer and see what I can grow!

New Sneakers

I'm about to join a new gym (for the last year or so I've been working out at home with this and a little with the P90X dvds) and the other night I went for a trial workout and what I noticed was that my sneakers aren't so comfortable anymore, I might have noticed before but I'm usually in spinner shoes.  So, now I'm thinking I might need to breakdown in the next few months and get new sneakers.  My current sneakers are Asics GT 2110 and they are kinda tight around my toes and my toes tend to get numb after awhile.  I saw some sneakers recommended on FitSugar and people seem to like Ryka, Under Armour, and the Nike Lunarglide.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I have a wide foot and my toes are kinda goofy.  I'll be using these for cardio and weight training at the gym.  Thanks!

Reflection

I'm reading Stephen King's 'On Writing' for the second time and the part I'm at now he's talking about his time teaching english and how he so easily could have given up on writing then, 30 years would have gone by and when people asked him what he did in his spare time he'd always say he was working on a novel, but really he'd just be messing around with them every once in awhile.  I got so sad about this I started to cry, right at my desk in work, not blubbering tears, just silent ones, but tears nonetheless.  Why did I give up so easily?  I say it's because I needed a job, I needed to make money, but I shouldn't have let go so quickly.  I used to like to tell myself that I was better off, that I probably wasn't a good writer anyway, but I think that was just a way out.  I don't really believe that I'm no good, and I definitely believe that if I wrote everyday I'd get even better.  Even now, I wonder if it's too late.  I'm taking a writing class, but I've yet to get back to the way I was in high school, writing everyday, filling up marble notebooks.  I was always the one to say the key to life was not settling and then I did just that.  From now on though, it's got to be about not settling.  I mean, the truth is, I'm not exactly rolling in the dough now, so what can it hurt to start following my dream (again)?  I may never be Stephen King, but I can at least be happy with myself.  Now I just need like 3 more hours in the day!

Martha's Blog Episode

I'm currently watching Martha's Blog episode on DVR.  One of the audience members has this super cute laptop skin that looks like Snow White holding the apple from the Apple computer in her hand!  I'm sure the lady in the photo will love me posting her on my blog, but here's a photo taken with the camera on my computer.

Isn't that so cute?

Here's a colored version on Etsy.  And here's a white one like the above photo.  As my husband points out the white looks good because it blends with the apple.

Stove Cleaning!

Okay, so with the kitchen renovation (more on that later), I'm trying to get the stove clean.  My wonderful husband has yet to grasp wiping off the stove top, so things tend to burn on there.  I've tried Magic Eraser at the suggestion of my friend Erin, Method Surface cleaning spray, these stove top scrubbie things, and that Awesome spray found at the Dollar store (which most of the time is awesome), but nothing has worked yet!  Here are a few pictures.  Please help!

(The stove is white, not yellow)
